Manfrotto Introduces First Single Unit Remote Controls for Both Fujinon and Canon Lenses
524CFI and 521CFI Lens Remote Controls to be Introduced at IBC 2006
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (8 September 2006) – Manfrotto, the world’s leading manufacturer of photographic and video support products, is the first company to offer a single unit remote control that controls both Fujinon and Canon lenses in its 524CFI and 521CFI lens remote control, which will be introduced at this year’s IBC.
Building on the success of their camcorder remote controls and lens-specific controllers, Manfrotto’s new remote controls are designed to control both Fujinon and Canon’s lenses, often used by professional videographers. Manfrotto’s technology, which automatically communicates with the lens the camera operator is using, is what sets Manfrotto’s lens controls above the competition.
The 524CFI is a pan bar-mounted remote control features a stepless zoom control speed dial, allowing for shooting versatility and gives the user the ability to pre-select a zoom speed or change the zoom speed mid-shot. The record/stop and RET feature plays back the last three seconds of footage, then stops at the last recorded frame, prepared to record again. Controls on the remote allow the user to quickly and easily control the zoom speed to avoid harsh transitions, while the zoom direction switch allows for transitions between left-right and right-left zoom.
A new addition to the Manfrotto lens remote control range, the 521CFI puts all of the functions of the 524CFI remote in a smaller clamp control suitable for use with the 595B Fig Rig. It is also suitable for use with jib arms and in a wide variety of shooting setups, allowing the video operator to fully utilize the latest compact HD camcorders.
Like the 524CFI, the 521CFI offers stepless progressive zoom, record/stop, RET function, a small, side-mounted dial to control zoom speed and a zoom direction switch.
