Bjorn Byron Thomassen, was born in England to an English mother and Norwegian father. Bjorn's father was a merchant navy captain, and Bjorn followed in his footsteps and spent a short period on the high sea's, eventually working as a harbour Master's assistant / policeman.
For ten years Bjorn was also a crew member and helmsman, of the Royal National Life Boat Institute. It was there that he achieved his proudest accolade to date. He was awarded a Velum, for his contribution to saving life at sea.
Bjorn always had a great passion for photography, and in 1994 Bjorn gained his first qualification, as he embarked on an exciting journey into the diverse and challenging world of professional photography.
