Avenger’s Buccaneer is a revolutionary heavy-duty cine lighting support created to respond to demands from the industry to provide a low loading height, TÜV certified wind-up stand that achieves a maximum height of 3m/9.84ft. There has been a huge focus on safety on set of productions in recent years and we’re fully onboard with this! This certification offers a guarantee to the user that the product has been thoroughly tested by an impartial external body ensuring they meet the most stringent safety guidelines in order to help protect everyone on set.

So, when we were repeatedly asked by our users for a low loading wind-up stand with a maximum height of 3m/9.84ft that would help improve safety on set by reducing the chance of injury from heavy manual lifting, we put the challenge to our industry leading team of engineers in Italy, the brief included four must-have specifications;
1.Low loading height of 94cm/3.1ft, eliminating the need for multiple crew members to dangerously lift heavy lights above shoulder height.
2.3m/9.84ft maximum height, for optimum light positioning on set
3.80kg/176.3lbs max payload, to support the industry’s leading lights

After years of development Avenger and the Buccaneer are ready to hoist the anchor and set sail on our voyage to transform the way users work with lighting on set. The low loading height is achieved by two unique key features: firstly, the reverse folding base and secondly the multi-sectional collarless column. Combined, these allow the stand to be loaded with a light at a height of just 94cm/3.1ft making this the world’s lowest loading wind-up stand with a max height of 3m/9.84ft.
Once the light is loaded, the base of the stand can be set to operational mode safely using the three levelling legs which also come in handy to compensate for uneven ground conditions.

Like Avenger’s other industry leading lighting supports; the Long John Silver and Long John Silver Junior the Buccaneer benefits from a dual-handled crank and winch-driven column system inspired by the mast of a ship, which means the payload can be raised and lowered faster than any other stand on the market. The Buccaneer sits on three braked, puncture-proof foam filled wheels with chunky treads suitable for multiple terrains, plus with each wheel benefiting from multi directional locking, manoeuvring the Buccaneer around set is a breeze, even when fully loaded.

The 28mm (1-1/8”) junior receiver combined with the 80kg/176.3lbs max payload means the Buccaneer is well equipped to support the industry's heavier lights, to ensure users have all the fire power they need on set. The low base and wide footprint of 80cm/31.4” offer plenty of clearance as well as maximum stability ensures it stands strong even on the high seas! Other features include a mounting plate for magnetic remote controls and a ballast mounting point to ensure it can be raised off the ground to help keep the decks clear. For ease of use the folded Buccaneer can easily be stowed away using the mini transportation castors and dual grip handle.
