The
Video Conferencing is more popular than ever, but can be very challenging, particularly when it comes to the environment the call is made from. Often there are visual distractions and uncontrollable situations going on all around the caller. What’s happening behind the caller is particularly important as this then appears as the background on the call. It could be people moving around the house or the office, a window with bright light shining through and affecting the web camera exposure or simply a very distracting background due to different colours or multiple different objects. To overcome this the caller needs to take control of the situation and present a clean, non-distracting, consistent background. Many people try to do this using the digital ‘cut out’ background or blur feature within the video conferencing software, but its not ideal. It never seems to cut around the person correctly and often delivers a very unprofessional result. This effect is made even worse when the caller tries to show something on screen and it disappears or becomes blurred or they are sat with another person and the cut out software only recognises one of them and cuts the other person out.
The most reliable solution is to use an actual background. The Manfrotto VC Background has been designed to meet the needs of the struggling video conferencing professional calling from a desktop workstation. It assembles in just a few minutes and can then be placed directly behind the users chair and completely isolates their webcam view from their environment, allowing other members of the household or office to continue going about their daily business, blocks out unwanted window light and hides any distracting features behind them. It’s also ideal for those who would just prefer to keep their work or home environment private.
The self-standing VC background is constructed from a simple 2m x 2m (6’6” x 6’6”) lightweight aluminium frame and crossbar with low profile feet for stability that can easily slide under furniture or other objects. The double sided 2m x 1.4m (6’6” x 4’7”) background cover simply slides over the frame offering two different surfaces to choose from.
This custom version of the background allows you to choose the image or graphic on one of the sides. The other side will be a neutral grey.
